Future
Regardless of the product or service, many companies benefit from applying service design to improve the service around what they deliver. Especially due to servitization and the growing experience economy. More and more companies are realizing this, as a result of which the service design discipline is becoming increasingly larger and more well-known. Within this growth I also see a role for myself as a designer the coming years. I hope to end up in a place where I can help companies transform their product or service so that the user experience is optimized and the operation as smooth as possible. In this I play the role of mediator between company, users and involved systems to provide insight into the current situation and opportunities for growth. In the upcoming years I want to gain as much experience as possible in applying service design for different clients so that I am able to quickly set up a good and unique strategy for each project and spot opportunities for improvement.
I hope to start at a place where I can also project my passion and the power of service design upon future students and clients. With new technologies evolving and emerging rapidly, I see great opportunities for service design to be implemented there as well, which I find an interesting branche to explore in the upcoming years.
Currently I’m in the middle of interviews and cases for a junior service designer position at 3 service design agencies. One of these companies is Essense. The upcoming days/weeks I will hear more about these positions. I hope to give an update during my FMP assessment.
